Content

The K1 class focuses on Chinese traditional musical instruments and clothing as the theme for this design activity. Through the activities, children will learn about the characteristics of Chinese musical instruments and have the opportunity to try playing different traditional instruments, experiencing the unique tones of Chinese music. In terms of traditional clothing, children can wear various styles of Chinese garments and appreciate the exquisite craftsmanship of embroidery and decorative stitching.

The K2 class uses Chinese ink painting and traditional Chinese toys as the themes for their design activities. During the activities, children will become familiar with traditional writing tools such as brushes, rice paper, ink, and ink stones. They will learn painting techniques for Chinese ink painting through these traditional tools and appreciate the beauty of this art form. Additionally, they will have the chance to experience traditional Chinese toys, such as throwing pots, kicking the shuttlecock, spinning tops, cuju (a form of ancient football), and kites.

The K3 class centers around the Lunar New Year and the Lantern Festival for their design activities. These activities will help children understand traditional Chinese festivals. The Lunar New Year represents the beginning of the new year, during which families gather, exchange New Year greetings, give red envelopes, and set off fireworks, all of which are important customs. The Lantern Festival celebrates the first full moon of the year, where people light lanterns, solve lantern riddles, and eat tangyuan (glutinous rice balls). Children will experience the cultural characteristics of Chinese festivals through these activities.
